Tattoo Removal

The laser beam penetrates the skin and shatters the ink particles in the tattoo. The immune system then sends scavenger cells to remove the particles and they are eliminated via the blood stream.
Each treatment is working to remove the tattoo, but a large amount of the fading may not be seen after the first treatment. A thin layer of ink may remain dark although a large portion has been removed. (An analogy would be moping black paint off the floor - only when most of the paint has gone does the floor look clear.) Fading continues with each subsequent treatment. However certain inks can be very difficult to remove and some may never fade 100%. This is more often the case with professional tattoos containing metal oxides.
